WWT means just what it says: wind keeps out, water keeps out. The container\'s shipping career is over, but its life as land-based storage is just starting. Expect more dents, more rust, more wear than CW. Doors still open and lock. Roof still sheds rain. Floor is still solid. The trade-off is cosmetic, not functional — and that's why WWT costs less.
Decade-plus of cargo service. Side panels show their age.
Surface rust is more widespread. Still treatable, still cosmetic.
May be stiff. May need lubrication. Will lock and seal.
Cannot be re-shipped internationally. Doesn't matter for land storage.
Wear patterns from cargo. Possible patches. Not rotted through.
Welded plate over a damaged section is common. Cosmetic.
Land-based storage where appearance doesn't matter — rural property, far-back-of-yard, behind-the-barn. People who want the most steel for the money and don't need shipping-ready spec.
Skip WWT if appearance matters, if you might ship the container later, or if you want the most modern grade of used. For most buyers, Cargo-Worthy is the better pick because the CSC cert and warranty implications justify the price step.
WWT typically prices 10-20% below Cargo-Worthy. Best value if you don't need shipping cert and don't care about cosmetics.
